Travelling with Intrepid means exploring the world with a small group of like-minded travellers. It means discovering some of the world’s most incredible places and coming home with unforgettable ‘wow’ moments that will stay with you forever. For more than 25 years, Intrepid’s local leaders have been taking small groups off the beaten track to truly experience a destination, rather than just scratching the surface.
On every trip Intrepid operates and in every interaction with a client, supplier or local, Intrepid lives by six core values:
- Integrity – Doing the right thing
- Responsible – Think global, act local
- Growth – Stakeholders in our own success
- Innovation – Thriving on new ideas and embracing change
- Fun – It’s engrained into who we are and what we do
- Passion – We are inspired by the work we do and the trips we offer
Why travel with Intrepid?
Intrepid tours
With over 1,000 trips on offer to over 100 countries, Intrepid caters for all manner of bucket lists! From Spain to Sri Lanka, Peru to Australia, Intrepid offers a wide variety of themed trips including sailing, food, polar, wildlife, short breaks and day trips.
Split into three travel styles, travellers can choose whichever level of comfort is appropriate for them:
Basix - for travellers on a budget and inclusions kept to a minimum.
Original – the classic Intrepid style with more hotels and included activities.
Comfort – for those who want a few more inclusions and creature comforts.
Local living
You’ll sleep, eat and travel local-style and gain authentic insights into local lives. With Intrepid, you could be sleeping at a unique gaucho estancia in Uruguay or bedding down with a local family on a homestay in Marangu at the base of Kilimanjaro. Either way, you’ll experience unforgettable accommodation, welcoming communities and legendary locals.
Speaking of legendary locals, the best way to get to know a county is through its people and that’s done easily through transport. Whether that means paddling a raft, pedalling a bicycle, experiencing a tuk tuk or overnight sleeper train, local transport puts you in the centre of the action and lets you move around at grassroots level.
Sustainability
Intrepid’s commitment to sustainability forms the fabric of every part of Intrepid. Leaders, travellers, and staff – everyone’s contribution is of equal significance.
Whether it’s energy-saving and recycling initiatives throughout the global offices, responsible travel policies (that resulted in Intrepid being awarded the Tourism for Tomorrow Award in 2011) or The Intrepid Foundation (a not-for-profit fund that distributes money raised by Intrepid travellers and staff to projects in the communities trips are run in) – Intrepid lives and breathes sustainability.
Intrepid’s small group travellers
Being a global company means that Intrepid’s trips carry people from all walks of life and from all around the world. Instead of being defined by age or nationality, Intrepid travellers are united by attitude: an open mind, a positive vibe and a yearning to connect with the world around them.
With an average group size of 10, you’ll connect with the people you meet, travel under the radar, experience a great social vibe plus feel like you’re exploring a destination independently. When you choose to travel on an Intrepid adventure, you can be confident that you'll get to explore the world with a group of like-minded travellers.
“This was an absolutely amazing tour. Abdu truly thought of everything possible to make our tour experience memorable and comfortable.” P. Brown, Best of Morocco
“My Intrepid holiday was, I can honestly say one of the best I have ever been on. I can’t go into all the amazing, unique, stunning sites we saw, the friendly people we met and the insight into local culture and daily life that we had the pleasure of experiencing. You need to go to experience that for yourself! One of the best trips I have ever been on and would without a doubt travel with Intrepid again.” B. Whelan, Vietnam Express Southbound
